A recreational soccer program for 1st thru 8th grade players that promotes participation, sportsmanship, and appreciation for the game of soccer with community based, grade level teams. Younger players start on smaller fields with less players on the pitch at a time, giving boys and girls get plenty of opportunities to touch, carry, pass, and shoot the ball.
Most players first team soccer experience is on a Community Soccer team - so we make every effort to provide a positive, engaging environment for players to learn the game and grow. For the elementary grades, this involves reducing the field size, playing with less players on the field, and simplifying some of the rules to keep players engaged and working on the fundamentals. As players reach middle school and junior high, the field size gets bigger, more players are on the field, and we begin introducing new rules (offsides, direct kicks, etc.) as players develop and gain experience.
Kids enjoy playing with their friends, which is why we form teams each summer based on the communities where players and families live and their grade level in school. This gives players the opportunity to play with their friends, neighbors, and classmates. Teams will also practice each week in their home communities as well. This reduces travel for families and helps keep soccer convenient and affordable for families. During the season, teams will play half of their games at home and the other half away in the surrounding communities that participate in the Community Soccer League.
Community Soccer teams are coached by the committed soccer moms and dads of our players. These volunteer coaches help harness the excitement of our players and bring them together as a team. As our coaches invest in our players, Lakeshore United FC also invests in our coaches. Coaches receive practice and training plans developed by the Director of Coaching (DOC) to help teams and individuals develop throughout the season. Lakeshore United FC also hosts US Soccer Coaching Certification Courses in Sheboygan for coaches that also want to grow and develop. All coaches are SafeSport certified.
