Last month, the boys from LUFC’s U11, U12, U13, and U19 Select Soccer teams made Lakeshore United history by earning multiple state championships at the Wisconsin Presidents and State Cup tournaments.
US Youth Soccer offers two distinct Cup series: The State Cup and the Presidents Cup. Both of these prestigious tournaments provide a pathway from state to regional to national championships, offering a progressive, competitive experience to participating teams.
Earning the title of Wisconsin State Champions for the 2022-23 programming year include:
We are exceptionally proud to see these teams rise to the challenges placed before them and experience the thrill of victory that will be hard to ever forget.
At Lakeshore United, we view these victories as a celebration of our collective journey and growth. They represent far more than mere trophies; they mark the milestones we’ve reached in fostering an engaged, supportive soccer community. From the early beginnings of our introductory Juniors program for 4K & 5K children, through the broad participation in our recreational Community Soccer League for grades 1-8, the accelerated growth in our player development Academy program, the fierce competition within our Select Soccer teams, and all the way up to our first-ever adult Men’s team, we’re witnessing an inspiring surge of interest in soccer across all age groups and skill levels. Each stage of this journey plays a vital role in developing not just skilled players, but also resilient, compassionate, and determined individuals who understand and value the spirit of sportsmanship.
These accomplishments signal a clear progression in our mission to provide soccer opportunities for youth of all ages and abilities. The enthusiasm, commitment, and skill displayed by our youth is a testament to their potential and the effectiveness of the nurturing environment Lakeshore United strives to provide.
With the state tournament success under our belts, Lakeshore United now sets sight on the Midwest Presidents Cup. Our U13 Boys, U18 Girls, and U19 boys are ready to face the challenge this weekend at the Voice of America MetroPark Athletic Complex in West Chester Township, Ohio.
Here is the schedule for all Lakeshore United’s matches:
Teams that perform well this weekend will have an opportunity to extend their stay in Ohio, with semifinals and finals scheduled for top seeded teams scheduled for Monday, June 19 and Tuesday, June 20.
“I’m looking forward to this weekend,” expressed LUFC President, Chris Lacey. “Our teams have worked hard for this moment. This marks a significant step in their development and for our club. No matter what happens, these will be moments that most of these players won’t ever forget.”
As we rally behind our teams, let’s also remember to practice digital safety. US Youth Soccer has confirmed that there will be no livestreams of any games this weekend. Please exercise caution and avoid any unknown links claiming to offer match streams, as these are likely to be spam. Our community’s safety, both on and off the pitch, remains a top priority.
The journey continues, and we are thrilled about what the future holds for Lakeshore United. As we cheer on our teams this weekend, we reflect on the strides we’ve made and look ahead to the countless opportunities on the horizon. Our growth is due to our dedicated players, committed coaches, supportive families, and vibrant community. This weekend, we’re not just playing for Lakeshore United, we’re playing for every person who’s been a part of our journey. Onward and upward, Lakeshore United!
