As the school year nears its end, Lakeshore United is primed to begin an exciting journey in the upcoming US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup. LUFC is proud to announce that nine of our Select teams will be competing in this tournament series designed to provide a progressive, competitive experience for teams seeking a challenge beyond their usual leagues.
US Youth Soccer offers two distinct Cup series: The State Cup and the Presidents Cup. Both of these prestigious tournaments provide a pathway from state to regional to national championships, offering a progressive, competitive experience to participating teams.
As youth soccer clubs continue to consolidate in the larger population areas of Wisconsin, the Presidents Cup is a great opportunity for Lakeshore United teams to compete against teams and clubs of similar size and skill from across the state. Beyond state-level competition, the Presidents Cup provides opportunities for our teams to compete at the regional and even national level, broadening their exposure and enriching their competitive experience.
The journey begins at home with the Wisconsin Presidents Cup, as teams battle for a chance to represent our state in the Midwest Presidents Cup in June. The victorious regional teams will then progress to the National Presidents Cup in July, reaching for greater glory with each match won.
Competing this weekend and representing Lakeshore United are the U12 Boys, U13 Boys, U14 Boys, U15 Boys, U17 Boys, U19 Boys, U12 Girls, U13 Girls, and U14 Girls. These travel-oriented teams represent the competitive core of our club.
Since our high school girls are currently in the middle of their WIAA high school season, they previously competed in the Wisconsin’s Presidents Cup during their club season this past fall. The LUFC U18 Girls team clinched the Wisconsin Presidents Cup and will be rooting for all the Lakeshore United teams competing this month as they look forward to competing in the upcoming regional tournament in Ohio.

2023 National Presidents Cup Details:
The Presidents Cup stands as a testament to our players’ commitment to growth, camaraderie, and community. Memories of our U19 Girls team’s historic national title win in 2022, a milestone that came to fruition through tireless efforts and unyielding teamwork, serve as an inspiring testament to the immense potential within our club.
Last year, Kamryn Luecke of Sheboygan Falls noted, “So ridiculous, 10 different communities coming together, and it says a lot about the soccer in Sheboygan because we won a national championship. Proves we’ve got some tough cookies.” Lakeshore United was the first team in state history, regardless of gender, to secure the USYS National Presidents Cup title. This feat serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a team is committed to a goal and supports one another.
This weekend, LUFC teams set forth on their first chapter of this exciting journey. Players will “try their best” to contribute to the grand narrative of their soccer experience. We are confident our players will embrace this opportunity to write a story that echoes the triumph of past champions.
Join us as we kick off the Wisconsin Presidents Cup this weekend. Witness the excitement, cheer for our teams, and be a part of this incredible journey. After all, we are more than just a club; we are a community. We are Lakeshore.
