Last week was the United Way of Sheboygan County’s Spirit of Sheboygan County’s Volunteer Awards, and we were so excited to see so many friends that were recognized.
Winners of the 2023 Youth Volunteer Star Award are longtime LUFC players, Abby and Lily Reinl! Last year, Abby and Lily organized the first annual Spikeball Tournament, consisting of 48 teams and raising over $1,500 for Children with Cancer of Sheboygan County. Abby and Lily are valued members of our community, participating not only as players but also as coaches and volunteers for our other youth programs.
Winning the 2023 Community Spirit award is LUFC sponsor, MilliporeSigma! Employees from MiiliporeSigma’s Sheboygan campus contributed hundreds of volunteer hours in our community, helping inspire curiosity in science for the next generation of Sheboygan County students.
Last but not least, finalists for the 2023 Group Volunteers of the Year was our very own Lakeshore United TOPSoccer Program! Our coaches and volunteers unselfishly give their time throughout the year to provide soccer skills clinics for area youth with special needs, helping us fulfill our vision of providing soccer opportunities for all.
While youth soccer is at the core of what Lakeshore United provides, it’s our goal to see the core principles of commitment, getting involved, working together, and learning to win and lose well extend far beyond the pitch. And we are so encouraged to see such quality people of our community giving back to Sheboygan County.
Well done!
