Sam Schroeder is Lakeshore United FC’s Director of Coaching (DOC). Schroeder oversees the Select Coaching Staff and is responsible for the continued development of the Select Soccer Program. As Director of Coaching, he is also a key resource supporting the Academy Director and Community Soccer Programs.
Schroeder is an alumni of Lakeland University where he majored in Education and played soccer from 2003-2006. After graduation, he set forth to pursue his career ambition of being a soccer coach and joined the staff of Lakeland University as the Assistant Coach for the men’s team. During that time, he was also the Head Soccer Coach at Plymouth High School where he helped lead the boys team to the state semifinals in 2010. In 2011, Schroeder became the Head Coach for the women’s soccer team at Ripon College. During his 6 years at Ripon, he helped transform the women’s soccer program to become regionally ranked. In 2017 Schroeder was an Assistant Coach at Indiana University before moving back to Minnesota to coach the U17 Development Academy at the prestigious Shattuck St. Mary’s school from 2018-19. In 2019 Schroeder returned to area and joined Lakeshore United FC where he served as U11-U14 Technical Director from 2019-2022.
Schroeder is an avid fisherman and is enjoys being back in Sheboygan – both for the access to Lake Michigan and the unique opportunities at LUFC. “Here we are really focused on 2 key areas: developing age groups and developing individual players. At the college level you develop teams so you can win…in the development academy you develop players. Here we’re doing both.”
