We Are Lakeshore: Chris Lacey

As we head into a new programming year, our “We Are Lakeshore” series resumes as we highlight some of our coaches, directors, and leaders of the LUFC community. This week we want to introduce a familiar face to many, Chris Lacey!

Chris Lacey serves as the President of Lakeshore United FC. As President, he is responsible for the overall strategic direction and organizational development of the club as well as the addition and integration of the Butzen Soccer Complex into Lakeshore United FC’s operations and programming. Prior to being elected as President in 2022, Lacey served as the Director of Operations for Lakeshore United FC (2013-2022) and President of the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (2016-2021).

While soccer now dominates his life, that wasn’t always the case. “I didn’t play soccer as a kid. Basketball was more my thing.” But after Lacey became a father to children that loved the sport, he decided to get involved. Lacey got his start as a Community Soccer coach and has never looked back. He has now been coaching for over 20 years including time spent with local recreational teams, Mequon United, North High School, and several LUFC Select teams, including the U18 Select Girls who were the 2017 Wisconsin State Cup Finalist. Lacey holds a USSF Class C coaching license and is currently working towards his Class B.

This Sheboygan South graduate is a long-standing member of the Sheboygan-area community and now lives in Sheboygan Falls and works at Kohler Company. He has 3 children: CJ, Bonnie (Marquette University), and Owen (Sheboygan South). He loves big dogs and movies, enjoying everything from Marvel blockbusters to Netflix documentaries.
